The Vice President's Council on Diversity and Inclusion
Creation
The VPCDI was established in spring 2011 as an autonomous body made up of faculty and staff volunteers. The Council works together to provide a venue focusing on clarifying pathways to enhance UNLV's mission of nurturing equity, diversity and inclusiveness promoting respect, support and empowerment on our campus. Members of this body serve as liaisons between their respective units, professional alliances, the Office of Diversity Initiatives, and other internal/external entities to address diversity issues throughout the UNLV campus.
Mission
The mission of the VPCDI shall be to advise the Vice President of Diversity Initiatives and Governmental Affairs in matters of policy and practice relating to diversifying, supporting and engaging the underrepresented populations of the faculty, staff, and students at UNLV. Members will also serve as local and regional ambassadors to support the development and enhancement of programs, services and opportunities for members of underrepresented groups through communication and collaboration.
