Minor in Geology
The Geology minor is designed for students in a variety of fields who desire a scientific understanding of the planet Earth, including earth materials and processes, and the history of the planet and its life. The minor consist of 23 credits of geography and geology classes. The minor may be particularly relevant to majors including education, archeology, environmental studies, engineering, and other majors including those within the Colleges of Sciences, Education, Liberal Arts, Business, and Engineering.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this minor, students will have a solid understanding of the field of Geology and will be able to apply scientific reasoning to a variety of geological topics, allowing them to apply their knowledge of such topics as mineralogy and the evolution of earth and life to relevant topics of interest within their declared major.
