Master of Education/Master of Science in Curriculum & Instruction; Technology Integration

The Department of Teaching & Learning holds as its central mission the preparation and development of educators at all levels. The department ensures that its professional education programs are based on essential knowledge, established and current research findings, and sound professional practice. The Department offers a M.Ed. in 17 areas of concentration as well as a M.S. in 13 of those areas. The master's degree consists of required core courses coupled with courses specifically related to the area of concentration. A culminating experience or thesis concludes the degree and provides evidence of the knowledge, skills, and dispositions gained while in the program.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this program, graduates will be able to:

  • Design, develop, and evaluate learning experiences and assessments incorporating contemporary technology tools and resources to address the diverse needs of students;
  • Use current research and district, state, and national content and technology standards to build lessons and units of instruction that maximize student learning, creativity, and innovation;
  • Model digital age work, learning, and responsibility representative of an innovative professional in a global and digital society;
  • Exhibit leadership by promoting and demonstrating effective use of digital tools and resources.
