The UNLV Debate Team exists only because of the generosity of our donors. Future donations like yours can help us expand access to additional students and improve our competitive performance.

Donations to the UNLV Debate Team Fund are dedicated to the team’s General Operations Budget. Between 80 and 85 percent of the money spent from this account directly funds the team’s competitive tournament travel (by far our largest expense). We travel to between 12 and 15 tournaments per year, and increasing numbers of students on the team and increasing travel costs have made this a critical area of need.

Donations to the UNLV Debate Team Scholarship Fund are dedicated to providing scholarships to qualified student members of the debate team. These scholarships are most commonly used to help students who otherwise might not be able to attend college or might not otherwise be able to "afford to" participate in debate and to recruit the some of the best and brightest students in the nation to attend and compete for UNLV. We typically have between 12 and 20 students participating on the team at any one time, and increasing student need as well as increasing student participation has stretched our scholarship budget.

Donations in kind also are accepted. Specifically, the UNLV Debate Team will gladly accept donations of reasonably modern functioning laptop computers. Specifically, our team could utilize any laptop that is reliable, capable of running Windows 7, and has a functional battery and extension cord. More modern laptops that also have functional wireless Internet cards could be used even more readily.
