With visitors, media, and presidential candidates on campus, security will be heightened during the week of the debate, especially when candidates are arriving and departing the various campus venues.
UNLV Police Services, US Secret Service, and other security personnel will be monitoring campus especially around Cox Pavilion. During the debate, access to this area will be restricted and members of the campus community will need to show ID to access certain parts of campus.
US Secret Service has requested that employees and students carry identification with them at all times. Therefore, during the week of the debate, all faculty, staff, and students must carry state-issued identification (i.e. driver's license) and your university identification (i.e. RebelCard). Although we do not anticipate any problems, the Secret Service or Police Services may ask individuals to produce identification to verify that they should be in certain areas. Your ID verifies your status and purpose on campus.
