Accelerated Schools PLUS

The College of Education’s Accelerated Schools PLUS Project is a school reform project designed to work with schools with high percentages of students in poverty and other at-risk situations that might impede student ability to succeed academically. The Accelerated Schools PLUS Project at UNLV works with several schools in Clark County and has a special program on a Navajo Reservation in Piñon, Ariz.

Adopt-A-School Program

Alternate Route to Licensure (ARL) Programs

The Alternate Route to Licensure Programs prepare teachers for instruction. Eligible students participate in 150 hours of staff development provided by the school district and begin their college course work for teacher certification.

Alternative Break Trips

Alternative Break Trips provide students with the opportunity to engage in service and learning, and to interact with diverse cultures in the United States during university breaks and weekends.

Artsbridge

The College of Fine Arts participates in Artsbridge – a national program that partners fine arts students with at-risk elementary school students to teach biology, math, and a variety of other topics using the arts. The program is underwritten locally.
