National Education for Women's (NEW) Leadership Nevada
This award-winning program educates and empowers the next generation of women leaders. The Women's Research Institute of Nevada (WRIN) joined the NEW Leadership Development Network at the invitation of the Center for American Women and Politics at Rutgers University. In 2003 WRIN held its first NEW Leadership Nevada program. More than 200 students from every college in the Nevada State Higher Education system have participated so far.
National Youth Sports Program (NYSP)
National Youth Sports Program is an academic and sports enrichment collaborative with the Clark County School District and community agencies. The program serves as a positive alternative to violence, gangs, and drug abuse. It focuses primarily on math and science, health education, alcohol/drug abuse, conflict resolution, diversity, family, and individual sports.
Nevada Children's Outdoor Bill of Rights
The Nevada Children’s Outdoor Bill of Rights improves the health and quality of life by encouraging children to be physically active and connecting or reconnecting them to nature and the outdoors.
Nevada Collaborative Teaching Improvement Program (NeCoTIP)
The Nevada Collaborative Teaching Improvement Program provides in-service professional development for practicing teachers and other k-12 educators.
Nevada Junior Science Bowl
Junior high school students from across the state participate in a one-day science knowledge completion.
Nevada NIH INBRE Bridges
Students from the College of Southen Nevada, Nevada State College and the Clark County School District participate in a summer laboratory-based research program.
Nevada Reading Week
Each spring, UNLV student-athletes visit local elementary schools and read to children as a part of Nevada Reading Week.
Nevada Scholars Day
Nevada high school students with high grade point averages are invited to tour UNLV's campus, meet with the College of Sciences faculty and advisors during Nevada Scholars Day.
Nevada Science Bowl
High School students from across Nevada participate in a two-day science knowledge competition.
