First Year Service Learning Courses
More than 250 students enrolled in Interdisciplinary Studies 100 and selected sections of English 102 participate in 4 to 5 hours of community service with an approved non-profit agency. Written assignments connect the course learning outcomes with the service experience. Community partners serve as co-educators, providing students with an orientation and information about the community needs addressed by the non-profit agency.
