Academic Support Presentations for Community Groups
UNLV’s Academic Success Center gives academic success presentations for community members, including future college students and school district staff. Past topics have included stress management and how you learn.
Accelerated Schools PLUS
The College of Education’s Accelerated Schools PLUS Project is a school reform project designed to work with schools with high percentages of students in poverty and other at-risk situations that might impede student ability to succeed academically. The Accelerated Schools PLUS Project at UNLV works with several schools in Clark County and has a special program on a Navajo Reservation in Piñon, Ariz.
Adopt-A-School Program
The program rewards youth for excelling academically and provides the UNLV community an opportunity to mentor and engage at-risk elementary students in the Clark County School District.
African American Scholar Recognition Night
Alternate Route to Licensure (ARL) Programs
The Alternate Route to Licensure Programs prepare teachers for instruction. Eligible students participate in 150 hours of staff development provided by the school district and begin their college course work for teacher certification.
Alternative Spring Break
Artsbridge
The College of Fine Arts participates in Artsbridge – a national program that partners fine arts students with at-risk elementary school students to teach biology, math, and a variety of other topics using the arts. The program is underwritten locally.
