Welcome!

I am pleased to announce the launch of the Center for the Analysis of Crime Statistics’ newly designed website, which was made possible through a grant from the U.S. Department of Justice (2006-BJ-CX-4058). The site’s cornerstone feature is an interactive crime database. The information contained in the database comes from the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) program. The database represents crimes known to the police submitted to the FBI from 1960 through 2006 by every law enforcement agency in Nevada, allowing visitors to examine the incidence and rate of criminal arrests in the state by crime type, over time, and by jurisdiction.

We are also please to announce the launch of Crime Mapping: A Journal of Research and Practice. Crime Mapping is an international, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to publishing high quality manuscripts on the spatial, temporal, and geographical aspects of crime and crime analysis from both a theoretical and an applied perspective. Crime Mapping is published twice a year, in the Spring and Fall. Click here for more information.
