Safety Assistance Service OSHA Model

Mission: To create a safety model program that could be duplicated nationwide that provides assistance to small businesses in understanding and complying with Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) regulations. This model was developed under the Small Business Compliance Alliance program.

 

The United Stated Small Business Administration (SBA) maintains and strengthens the nation's economy by aiding, counseling, assisting, and protecting the interests of small businesses and by helping families and businesses recover from national disasters.

SBA's funding is not an endorsement of any products, opinions, or services. All SBA funded programs are extended to the public on a nondiscriminatory basis.

 
 
 

The Small Business Compliance Alliance (SBCA) is the gateway to information and resources on IRS, OSHA, and EPA regulations for small businesses. Through innovative partnerships with federal, state, and local agencies, models were developed to provide easy-to-understand regulatory compliance information and resources in a totally confidential format.

The SBCA is the national partnership system providing EPA, IRS and OSHA regulatory assistance and information to small businesses coordinating with federal, state and local agencies.

The SBCA is funded by the U.S. Small Business Administration and administered through the Nevada Small Business Development Center.

 
 
 
The Nevada Small Business Development Center (NSBDC) is a non-profit statewide business assistance outreach program of the University of Nevada, Reno and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. The NSBDC provides an unique array of services, expertise, and training in starting a business and providing useful information and analyses of the economy, environment and demographic data to help grow a business in the state of Nevada.

 

Improving Workplace Safety for Hispanic Employees

Mission: To reduce the number of workplace accidents, injuries, and fatalities to Hispanic workers. The goal is to determine why Hispanic workers have the highest accident, injury, and fatality rates.

 

The Public Entity Risk Institute (PERI) serves the risk management needs of local governments, small businesses, and small nonprofit entities. The Grant and Research Program of PERI endeavors to improve the theory and practice of risk management in public entities, non-profit organizations, and small businesses.

The goal of PERI is to provide the knowledge, resources, and information that will help you address your risk management challenges.

 
 
 

Builders Insurance Company (BIC) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Nevada Contractors Insurance Company, Inc. BIC offers comprehensive safety and loss control programs at no extra cost. The Board of Directors believes that "Only One Can Be The Best" and that BIC's combination of expert safety and superior claims management makes Builders Insurance Company the contractor's best choice for coverage.

BIC is the second largest workers' comp carrier in Nevada.

 

Education of the Anti-discrimination Provision of the
Immigration and Nationality Act (INA)

Mission: To educate employers and employees about their rights and responsibilities under the INA.

 

The U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Special Counsel (OSC) is an independent federal investigative and prosecutorial agency whose basic authorities come from three federal statutes: the Civil Service Reform Act, the Whistleblower Protection Act, and the Hatch Act.

The Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) is the basic body of immigration law. There are many provisions with which employers and employees are unfamiliar. The U.S. Office of Special Counsel (OSC) provides grant funding for organizations to disseminate this information in an attempt to familiarize individuals with the INA.
