FBT is one of the most scientifically supported treatments available for substance abuse and its associated behavior problems (e.g., depression, unemployment, conduct disorders, family discord, child maltreatment). Indeed, more than a decade ago, the FBT approach to substance abuse was the only comprehensive scientifically-based approach listed in NIDA's Principles of Addiction Treatment resource to demonstrate improved outcomes in both adolescent and adult substance abusers, and is currently listed in SAMHSA’s National Registry of Evidence-based Programs and Practices.   In a review by NIAAA,  Family Behavior Therapy was listed as one of the few “evidence-based, developmentally sensitive approaches emerging for addressing alcohol, nicotine, and other drug use problems among adolescents.”

"The program taught me a lot of coping skills for my family especially with anger control. I felt very comfortable with the staff and had an overall great experience."

FBT Consumer

"Having served 1000’s of youth with behavior problems in the juvenile justice system, I can’t stress enough how important it is to utilize evidence based treatments, such as Family Behavior Therapy for this population. My experience with FBT staff has been very positive and they have always been associated with excellence in every regard. I hope you consider FBT in your future plans."

Kirby Burgess, Sr. VP West Care
