On behalf of the faculty and staff, it is my distinct pleasure to welcome you to the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department’s website. Our department is committed to maintaining a strong academic curriculum relevant to all civil engineering disciplines at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
Although a young department, we have grown dramatically over the past several years by attracting outstanding faculty and students, and by expanding sponsored research programs.
Our programs are constantly revised, improved, and strengthened in order to reflect the growth in technology and the industrial and societal needs with respect to creative thinking, interdisciplinary knowledge, and teamwork. In addition to strong academic curriculum and research programs, our students greatly benefit from available opportunities for internships, co-op programs, and practical training experiences that provide stepping stones to their professional careers.
Our department has close ties with the local professional community and benefits from and active advisory board, Without a doubt, these interactions result in an enriched academic experience and improved career opportunities for our students.
Our motivated faculty members constantly strive to improve the education and research programs in order to assist students to build the needed skills to meet the challenges of a professional engineer career. Indeed, our graduates have developed successful careers, providing leadership throughout the state, region, and nation.
