Congratulations to Jerry Koloskie on receiving the 2007 FWATA Most Distinguished Athletic Training Award.
The purpose of this award is to recognize those members who have given outstanding service and dedication to the Athletic Training Profession and FWATA with 20 or more years as an active member of the FWATA. Their time may have been given in the nature of holding office, chairperson or active member of committees, behind the scenes work, etc. The award was presented to Jerry Koloskie by Kyle Wilson, Head Athletic Trainer at the Far West Athletic Trainer's Hall of Fame and Awards Banquet on Saturday, April 28th.
Congratulations to Anthony (Tony) House, UNLV Graduate Assistant, who received the FWATA Hall of Fame Memorail Scholarship.
Congratulations to the UNLV Students who finished 2nd in the 2007 FWATA Jepardy Challange which was held at the Students Session on Saturday, April 28th.
In addition, we had two ATS (Athletic Training Students) give presentations.
Kate Vardiman, senior ATS, presented Rodeo Tape Jobs. This presentation introduced tape jobs athletic trainers might use on rodeo athletes.
Patrick Amorelli, senior ATS, presented on overview on Heat Related Illness which discussed prevention, recognition, and treatment of heat related illnesses.

Dr. Gerald Higgins Scholarship Student Athletic Trainer Award
Presented annually to the UNLV athletic training student who achieves academic excellence, satisfies the standards of the National Athletic Trainers Association and demonstrated the characteristics necessary to be employed as a certified athletic trainer.
