It is a pleasure to be serving the UNLV Alumni Association as the College of Fine Arts chapter president. As a College of Fine Arts graduate, giving back to the institution that changed our lives for the better is the right thing to do. Our dedicated board of directors is as diverse as the College of Fine Arts itself. The directors come from fine arts, dance, music, theater, and architecture.
Making a Better Community
With an understanding that every economically successful and culturally vibrant community is backed by a solid education system, our community depends on the success of our schools and training facilities. Our goal is to provide leadership and resources for current students and recent graduates. Providing a vast web of connections to new and young professionals makes for a better community. Engaging current students and providing mentorship now will make for future leaders and a more responsible and engaged alumni.
Community Outreach and Student Engagement
Our chapter has been very active since Dean Koep and the Alumni Association have brought us together. The College of Fine Arts is constantly planning for community outreach and student engagement events. These events are an excellent way to stay in touch with fellow alumni and students. With our chapter website, we will be keeping you informed as to when and where the next event will be. If you like to stay connected through social networks, you can find us on Facebook and Linkedin.
Giving back offers rewards on its own, as we are making for a better place to live. Membership in the association also offers vast benefits that include career assistance, library and copy center privileges, and discounts on dining and travel, to name just a few. To see a full list of benefits provided for alumni, visit the association’s website.
Our chapter is looking for your input. Come join us. We welcome your participation during our board meetings as well as your involvement in organizing activities and events. Your support and membership are important, as they help our chapter remain strong and able to provide venues to show Las Vegas that the arts are alive and well in our community.
