  • Alumnus of the Year – Jeremy Cope

    UNLV named Jeremy Cope, ’07 BS Kinesiological Science, its School of Allied Health Sciences alumnus of the year for 2016.

  • Dr. Lee Named JOSPT Reviewer of the Year Award

    Dr. Szu-Ping Lee received the 2015 Reviewer of the Year award from Journal of Orthopaedic & Sports Physical Therapy (JOSPT). Dr. Lee, who has served as a reviewer for JOSPT 18 times since 2013, earned the award for consistent excellence in three distinct areas: willingness to conduct reviews, insightfulness and constructiveness of the reviews, and promptness of turnaround. 

  • Distinguished Teaching

    George Pales earned the 2016 UNLV Foundation Distinguished Teaching Award for his significant record of teaching excellence.

  • Dietitian of the Year

    Damon McCune, kinesiology and nutrition sciences, received the Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year award from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. The academy bestows the award to one person from each state, honoring the awardee’s professional competence and active participation within the industry.

  • New Doctorate Program Available

    The new Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Health Sciences at UNLV, one of the first offered in the Western United States, is an innovative approach to healthcare research.
