What is UNLV @Nellis?

UNLV @Nellis is UNLV’s office/classroom located at Nellis Air Force Base.

Who can take courses at the Nellis location?

UNLV courses at Nellis are designed to serve our local active duty and military affiliated students. We provide the courses they need, when they need them. Civilian students are also able to attend courses on base but they must first obtain a base pass. To qualify for a base pass, the student must be a US citizen with a clean driving and criminal record. They must also have a valid drivers license, current vehicle registration, and proof of insurance on their vehicle in order to physically get on base.

If I’m a civilian student, how do I get a base pass?

Approximately 3 weeks before the course start date, the UNLV @Nellis Coordinator will send all civilian students enrolled in the course an email with a Base Access Request Form attached. This form requests information needed in order for the base to run a standard background check on the students requesting the pass. Students return the completed form to the coordinator ASAP and the base runs the background checks. Students who pass the background check are eligible for a base pass and will be notified by the Coordinator approximately 1 week before the class starts. In order to pick up the pass and physically enter the base, students must present a valid driver’s license as well as the registration and proof of insurance for the vehicle entering the base.

Where exactly is the office/classroom located?

The office is located on Nellis Air Force Base in North Las Vegas. The base is located at the intersection of Las Vegas Blvd and Craig Road. Once on base, the office can be found in the 99thFSS bldg. #20 located at 4475 England Ave. Signage on base will refer to this building as the “Pass & ID” building.
