Letter from William G. Boldt
Today in Southern Nevada, it takes only one circumstance — an illness or job loss — to force families out of their homes. As members of the UNLV family, we are all committed to improving our campus and the surrounding community. Each of us knows someone — even among our own friends and families — who is suffering during these times of economic hardship.
It takes all of our efforts to improve the lives of others and that is why I am writing to share with you an opportunity to give back. UNLV’s "Thanks for Giving" program allows employees to make convenient charitable contributions to United Way or any 501(c)(3) of your choice.
I serve on the Board of the United Way and know firsthand the impact these gifts have in responding to the education, income, health, and immediate needs of people in Southern Nevada. And this year, because of the economic challenges facing Nevadans, the United Way has partnered with agencies offering financial, legal, and employment assistance.
A strong community cares for those in need of life's basic necessities — health, education, employment — and, if we work together, we can improve the condition of those less fortunate than us. I encourage you to support the United Way Campaign. Visit the “Thanks for Giving” Campaign webpage for additional information about the campaign and download the pledge form.
Thank you for your consideration and "Thanks for Giving."
