It's that time of year again. Students are preparing for graduation and finalizing their future plans. During this exciting time, students often ask, "What do I do next?" We're here to help you guide students through their final steps in becoming UNLV Rebels.
Once admitted, the next step is to register for first-semester courses. Registration for summer and fall 2008 opened for new students April 9. Students who have not yet registered are invited to attend one of our on-campus registration help events, also known as Rebel Registration and Registration Help Days.
What's the difference?
Rebel Registration is a multiday event packed with information sessions, tours, and activities to help students with advising, registration, financial aid, and general preparation for the fall 2008 semester. Immunization clinics will also be available. Students can come one or both days each session. There will be a parent program as well.
Registration Help Days are single-day events scheduled throughout the summer that focus primarily on assisting students with online registration.
While we encourage as many students as possible to take advantage of the comprehensive program at Rebel Registration, we recognize that some students may want a more streamlined approach to registering for classes next year.
Will there be advising services for transfer students?
Freshman transfer and transfer students are encouraged to attend Rebel Registration July 17-18. Specialists will be on hand to address their specific needs.
Are students required to R.S.V.P.?
Yes, it's critical for students to R.S.V.P. for each event by its deadline. It's the only way for students to secure appointments with academic advisors.
Neither program is mandatory but is strongly encouraged so that students can be well prepared for their university experience. If your student cannot make one of these events, tell him or her to meet with an academic advisor before signing up for classes.
