New Student Orientation Gets College Careers Started Right
Students may have summer vacation on the brain, but it's not too early for them to R.S.V.P. for New Student Orientation August 21-22 at rebelconnection.unlv.edu. Encourage new freshman and transfer students to attend this useful program where they'll:
- Meet faculty and learn about their majors.
- Navigate campus and find their classes.
- Get study strategies, time management tips, and a glimpse into university life.
- Learn the financial aid process.
- Discover helpful campus resources.
- Buy textbooks and parking permits.
- Set up computer lab accounts.
- Meet other students at fun social events.
- Get straight answers from students, faculty, and staff.
Parents are invited too, and we're planning special sessions just for them. Because the transition to college can have a big impact on the family, we'll share tips for success and insights into what to expect from UNLV. A parent reception is planned for the evening of August 21 in the Student Union Ballroom. Encourage parents to mark their calendars.
