How to Apply
This page outlines the steps for applying to UNLV as an international undergraduate student.
Complete the international application form online.
Submit the $95.00 application fee in U.S. funds. Fees are payable by credit/debit cards.

To pay by cash, money order, or check, please SAVE your application and consult Office of Admissions & Recruitment. Application fees are non-refundable.

Complete the Confidential Financial Certification form. Include a bank letter showing the amount listed on the Confidential Financial Certification form and mail or fax the forms to the Office of International Students & Scholars.

NOTE: The certification form must be signed by the Guarantor (owner of money named in the bank letter.)

Send proof of English proficiency. Acceptable documents include any one of the following:
  • International TOEFL
  • UNLV Michigan Exam
  • University-level course taken at a U.S. university/college which is equivalent to UNLV English 101 with grade of C or above
  • Four years of U.S. college-preparation high school English and appropriate ACT/SAT score

NOTE: If you do not have official proof of English proficiency, select the major "ESL" as your first choice in part 3 of the application form.

Send transcripts (OFFICIAL report of all courses attempted and results) from EACH school attended (secondary and beyond).*  Transcripts must be received by the Office of Admissions and Recruitment in a sealed envelope from the school or appropriate examining board.  In addition, if documents are not written in English, a line-by-line translation is required.
* Note: While not required, it is strongly recommended that you request a course-by-course evaluation of your foreign credentials from an external evaluating agency. We prefer you order an evaluation from Josef Silny and Associates , but we will accept evaluations from other NACES approved external evaluating agencies as well.   You may download the Foreign Credential Evaluations Application (PDF) from www.jsilny.com to order the evaluation of your foreign credentials.

If you are transferring from a U.S. school, please include a photocopy of the visa page of your passport, an I-94 Departure Record, and the 1-20 form from each secondary school and/or university/college you have attended.
If you have been previously admitted to UNLV, return the unused I-20 form with a new bank letter and the completed UNLV Update form.
