Good Neighbor Reduced Nonresident Tuition Policy
To qualify for the Good Neighbor Program, you must meet the following criteria:
- Have graduated from high school or attended a community college in an approved county.
- Have maintained a legal bona fide resident status in that county for a period of at least 12 consecutive months prior to the first semester in which enrollment is sought.
If you meet these conditions, you may qualify for a reduced tuition rate at UNLV. To apply for the program, complete the Good Neighbor application and mail or fax to Student Enrollment Services.

Notes
- Once a student has matriculated at UNLV as an "out of state" resident, the student is no longer eligible for the Good Neighbor tuition reduction.
- A student who initially enrolled at UNLV under the Good Neighbor Program is not eligible for reclassification as a resident unless one of the following conditions is met:
- The student was enrolled as a regular nonresident student for at least 12 months prior to the date of the application for reclassification to resident student status.

- The student becomes nonenrolled for the same 12-month period and meets all requirements for Nevada resident classification.
