ACT/SAT test scores are used to determine a student's placement into English and math courses. These scores are also considered when evaluating for merit-based scholarships. ACT/SAT test scores should be received by UNLV no later than Feb. 1. The University College Advising Center offers the ACT Residual exam throughout the course of the year. Students who have not taken either the SAT or ACT, or who are looking to increase their test score, can take the residual exam for placement into the appropriate course. UNLV students whose test scores are 18 months or older will be required to retake the ACT residual for placement. Please note that residual exam scores are good at UNLV only and will not be recognized by other institutions. The following minimum scores are required for placement in English and mathematics courses.
Please refer to the Undergraduate Catalog for course descriptions. |
