What to do After You've Applied
Check the status of your application online – Beginning two weeks after you’ve submitted your application, you can check its status in our system. On your application status page, you will see one of three responses:
  1. "Admitted" – You have been admitted into the university; however, before you can register for classes you must submit your immunization records, and meet with an academic advisor (contact your major department to set up an appointment).

All immunization documents should be mailed or faxed to the Office of Admissions & Recruitment in order to register for courses.

Office of Admissions & Recruitment Mailing Address :
    Office of Admissions & Recruitment
    4505 Maryland Parkway Box 1021
    Las Vegas, NV 89154-1021
    Location:

Student Services Complex, Bldg B (near Cox Pavilion and the Student Recreation and Wellness Center)

    Phone:

    702-774-UNLV

    Fax:

    702-774-8008

  2. "File incomplete" – Our records show the Office of Admissions & Recruitment is missing one of three items: your fee, your official transcripts, or a senior class schedule (if a high school student). To be considered complete, we must have all three items. In most instances, applications are incomplete pending the receipt of official transcripts.

  3. "Workbin" – Your application, fee, and transcripts have been received and the evaluation process has started. Normal processing time for complete applications is four (4) weeks.
Financial Assistance - You are encouraged to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the UNLV scholarship application by the following priority deadlines:

Fall February 1
Spring October 1
Summer April 1

NOTE: The dates listed above are for priority placement only. Submissions can occur after the deadline.

Immunization Requirements

Nevada Administrative Code (NAC) Chapter 441A.755 requires that all students, regardless of age, must provide documentation of having received the Tetanus-Diphtheria (Td) immunization within the last 10 years.

In addition, students born in or after 1957 must provide proof of immunity for the following:

  • Two doses of live measles (Rubeola)
  • One mumps
  • One rubella

All immunization documents should be mailed or faxed to the Office Admissions & Undergraduate Recruitment in order to register for courses.

The following are acceptable proof of immunization:

  • Childhood immunization card signed by a physician or nurse including the facility name and address
  • High school or college records
  • Military, state or county records
  • Lab report that indicates immunity (Titer test for MMR)

Immunizations are typically available through your private physician or the Public Health Department. To assist students in registering for classes, the UNLV Student Health Center offers immunization clinics during certain times of the year. Please check with their office for hours and availability at 702-895-3370 or http://www.unlv.edu/studentlife/shc/.

Additional Notes

  • Students under age 18 must have a parent's signature on the immunization form or a parent/guardian with them to receive the immunizations.
Freshman On-Campus Housing Regulation

UNLV requires freshmen students from high schools outside Clark County, Nevada to live on campus during their first year. This requirement — meant to help students adjust to university life — is not a guarantee of space. Apply early to secure your space and increase your chances of getting your room and/or floor preferences.

See the campus housing website or call 702-895-3489 for information and an application.
