The X-Ray Atomic and Molecular Spectroscopy Program (XAMS) represents a team of scientists using the Advanced Light Source (ALS) at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) in Berkeley, California, for investigations of fundamental phenomena underlying x-ray interactions with gases. Its primary access to the ALS is at beamline (BL) 9.3.1, which was built especially for x-ray-spectroscopy applications.
