Memphis, Tennessee is the home of the Blues, Beale Street, The Rock 'n Soul Museum, Graceland, the National Civil Rights Museum, delicious barbecue, and the upcoming 29th Annual RCML Conference. Since Memphis is conveniently located on the Mississippi River Bank in the central part of the United States, you may find it convenient to drive to the conference. The city is located only 5 hours from St. Louis, 3 hours from Nashville, and 6 hours from Baton Rouge or New Orleans.

The conference meeting site and hotel accommodations are located at the Holiday Inn--Memphis East.  Call (901) 682-7881 or 1-800-Holiday  for reservations.  Indicate you are attending the RCML conference scheduled March 7th - 9th, 2002.   Use RCM (3 initials only) when booking through the 1-800-Holiday number.  The bargain hotel rates for the Research Council for Mathematics Learning Conference are only $84.95 per night! Arrange your flights and hotel stay early.  Memphis is a Northwest hub, with other flights coming in regularly on United, US Air, AirTran, Delta, Continental, and TWA.

An excellent program is taking shape. A registration fee of $100 for presenters, $115 for non-presenting RCML members, $130 for non-members, and $70 for guests and graduate students makes this an affordable conference.  In addition to the choice of close to 50 individual sessions and special Wilson and Founders presentations, this fee includes two full breakfasts, two full lunches, four break/snack sessions, and a cash bar reception with finger food.

Watch the December issue of RCML Intersection Points for a copy of the conference registration form or click here to either print out a faxable form or register on-line.  Registrations and full payment (US$) are due by 31 January 2002.
