Research & MFA only: A detailed plan of study (what you are doing, where and why), a letter from your academic advisor showing support and approval of your plan of study and an estimated budget of expenses must be attached to this application. A worksheet for establishing your budget is available from the Office of International Programs. Students participating in research programs or MFA study must be out of the U.S. for a minimum of 4 weeks and be enrolled for academic credit at UNLV for the research performed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum UNLV G.P.A. 2.75 on a scale of 4.0 at the time of application.
- Completion of the following International Programs Scholarship application form and any required documentation as noted. Return the UNLV International Programs Scholarship Application to the Office of International Programs, CBC B325, (fax) 702-895-4147 by 5 p.m. Las Vegas time on the deadline day.
- Participation in a UNLV sponsored study abroad program or APPROVED internship or research project. If you are not currently admitted to UNLV you must attach copies of your transcripts (unofficial photo or fax copies are acceptable) to the scholarship application. Applications without attached transcripts will not be accepted. Currently admitted UNLV students do not need to submit transcripts. Students attending USAC programs but not enrolled through UNLV are not eligible for scholarships through UNLV. Students attending study abroad programs not sponsored by UNLV are not eligible for International Programs scholarships. Students attending study abroad “tours” or programs of less than 1 month are not eligible for International Programs scholarships.
- All scholarships are contingent upon acceptance to one of the UNLV sponsored study abroad programs, admission to UNLV during the term the scholarship is awarded, continued eligibility for scholarships, and satisfactory completion of the study abroad program. Students who fail to attend or withdraw from study abroad programs will be required to repay any scholarship awards. Scholarships are awarded for each term. Students are encouraged to apply for scholarships for each term they intend to study abroad. It is also recommended that students complete the General Scholarship and financial aid applications. General scholarship and financial aid applications are available from Student Financial Services SSC-232.

- Students have a maximum financial aid award eligibility for each semester. If a scholarship awarded is in excess of this maximum amount other financial aid awards may be reduced.
