The National Student Exchange is a transfer credit program: At the end of your exchange, the UNLV's Student Enrollment Services Office will evaluate your transcripts from your host school to determine which classes and the number of credits that will transfer to UNLV. Your advisor will determine which of those classes/credits can be used for to satisfy your graduation requirements You will need to review the catalog of the schools you are interested in and have your advisor assist you in selecting courses. Although the UNLV International Programs Office will do its best to assist you, placement on exchange, successful exchange, and transfer of credit upon return to UNLV is not guaranteed. For information on transferring credits to UNLV, please see your academic advisor. The UNLV Office of International Programs strongly recommends that you seek the advice of your advisor prior to applying for NSE and again for help in planning course registration for the period of your exchange.
Students need to be aware that UNLV has a RESIDENT CREDIT REQUIREMENT. Students are required to complete their LAST 30 credits in RESIDENCE at UNLV. If you will be a senior during any part of your planned exchange, please see your advisor: the NSE program is a transfer credit program and an interruption of the Resident Credit Requirement (please see the UNLV undergraduate catalog http://www.unlv.edu/pubs/catalogs/undergraduate/.
