Biography:
Dr. Deborah Arteaga holds an M.A. in French linguistics from
the University of Colorado; she received her doctorate in Romance linguistics
from the University of Washington in 1990, specializing in historical
Romance syntax. Currently, she is an Associate Professor in Spanish
linguistics at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Dr. Arteaga
has taught all levels of Spanish and French language and linguistics
and has coordinated both Spanish and French instruction at the university
level. Her publications focus on second language acquisition
of Spanish and French, as well as on historical Romance syntax. In
2001, she received the Distinguished Teaching Award from the University
of Nevada, Las Vegas.
