2006 Alumni Survey for the MPA Program

 

 

Survey conducted during the summer and fall using an on-line system. We had 55 respondents including 24 that graduated during the past three years. Of the 24, 87% were working full-time when they entered the program.

An overwhelming number of respondents (22 of 24) gave the program a positive evaluation and would recommend the program to others.

Women and minorities felt safe and respected while they participated in the program having no sense of harassment of racism. However, both groups felt like they would like more interaction with practitioners and faculty.

The five most important topics/aspects covered in the MPA program for respondents relative to their work:

 

                                    Oral Communication Skills                                   95%

                                    Writing Skills                                                             95%

                                    Decision making and Problem solving               80%

                                    Program Evaluation                                                 70%

                                    Leadership                                                                65%

 

Material on economic policies and institutions as well as management information scored lowest with 30% and 40% respectively.
