The Criminal Justice department has recently established a chapter of Alpha Phi Sigma, the National Criminal Justice Honor Society for students. Information about the organization is available on the Alpha Phi Sigma website.

Title: Student Award Winners - 2007

Caitlin Lorelli received the 2007 Edwin Sutherland Award. This award is given to the graduating senior who has displayed outstanding academic performance based on GPA.

Richard Meyers received the 2007 August Volmer Award. This award is given to an outstanding graduating senior who works in the field of law enforcement.

Jessica Lance, Debra Cochrane, and Tatyana Menaker received the 2007 Kriss Drass Undergraduate Research Award. This award is given to an undergraduate student who has conducted an outstanding research project under faculty supervision.

Nick Bahen, Hillary Heap, and Lisa Dooley received the 2007-2008 Jay Hahn Law Enforcement Scholarship. This award is given to excellent undergraduate students who will attend UNLV for at least one more year.

Jared Shoemaker received the 2007 Outstanding Graduate Student Award. This award is given to a graduate student who has displayed outstanding academic performance.

Jared Shoemaker also received the 2007 Outstanding Graduate Student Paper Award. This award is given to a student who produces an excellent thesis or class paper that is of publication quality.
