| Martha Knack received her Ph.D. from the University of Michigan in 1975. In her research and teaching, Dr. Knack specializes in contemporary North Americans, ethnohistory, kinship, social organization, and women. Her books include: Boundaries Between: The Southern Paiutes, 1775-1995 (U Nebraska P, 2001); As Long as the River Shall Run: An Ethnohistory of Pyramid Lake Reservation, Nevada (co-author with Omer Stewart, updated edition U Nevada P, 1999); Native Americans and Wage Labor: Ethnohistorical Perspectives (co-editor with Alice Littlefield (U Oklahoma P, 1996); and Contemporary Southern Paiute Household Structure and Bilateral Kinship Clusters (Ballena P, 1980). |
