| Barbara Brents received her Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Missouri. Her research and teaching areas of specialization include political and comparative historical sociology, social policy, gender, and the sex industry. She has published articles in American Sociological Review, Critical Sociology, Journal of Contemporary Ethnography, and Social Science and Medicine; and she has served as president of the Nevada ACLU. |
